IMG_3714National Geographic recently rated Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market as the “World’s Best Food Market”, something Torontonians have known for years. Early Greek immigrants lived near the Market as they also worked as butchers, fish mongers and green grocers. St. George (Toronto’s first and oldest Greek Orthodox church) was founded to be near the Greek community.

Join me on Monday, May 26th for a 5-course Greek dinner set in the Market Kitchen, overlooking Toronto’s world famous St. Lawrence Market and Toronto’s landmark Flat Iron building and downtown Toronto. The theme of the evening with be “Ta Kandezika: the bounty of Canada at the Greek table”.

Many of the ingredients for the dinner will be sourced from Canadian artisans and vendors located in St. Lawrence Market. The approach with the wine will be a little different this time with my friends’ Vicki and Jonas of Hinterland Wines (Prince Edward County) selecting the wines for the evening.

I am delighted to announce that the dinner’s sponsors are Nisos Importing (olive oil), Scheffler’s Deli of St. Lawrence Market and Krinos Foods Canada.
