Join me on Sunday, October 19th for an special dinner tailored to complement the wines of Thymiopoulos Vineyards of Naoussa in central Macedonia. The region has a long wine-making history (named Internation City of Wines and Vineyards) with an emphasis on the Xinomavro grape varietal.
My family is from nearby the region and I am delighted to cook a Naoussa inspired menu that will complement the wines selected by winemaker Apostolos Thymiopoulos.
Thymiopoulos Wines are distributed in Ontario by Victory Wines and the olive oil used in the entire menu will be provided by Nisos Importing.
This dinner will take place once again at the St. Lawrence Market Kitchen with a view of the market itself and west looking upon the city’s downtown core.
Appetizers – Keftedakia (meatballs) with Makalo sauce
Onion and Mushroom Fritters
Smoked Trout and Gigantes Beans Canape
Paired with Thymiopoulos Boarding Pass Malagouzia
1st course – Napolean of Beet and Cheese Salad
Paired with Thymiopoulos Boarding Pass Malagouzia
2nd Course – Varenika Pasta Filled with Smoked Eggplant
Paired with Thymiopoulos Young Vines Xinomavro (unoaked)
Main Course – Milk Braised Pork (Prassoselino) with Leeks and Celery
Paired with Thymiopoulos Earth & Sky Xinomavro (oaked)
Dessert – Revani Syrup Cake from Veroia
Paired with Tsipouro Merikiklidiko with Muscat grape

Tickets for full dinner plus wine-pairings for the entire meal is $85.00 (plus handling fee)
Tickets for full dinner (NO WINE) are $65.00 (plus handling fee)
